Carmen Eliam is a bold copper jewelry designer of limitless imagination, powerful vision, and a profound sense of self. Crafted with precious metal and the finest gemstones, her pieces synthesize her long interest in design, fascination with color, and attention to detail.

Born in the Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Carmen’s work is distinguished by a contemporary style with deep roots in the African and classical tradition. She further developed her artistic abilities as a Fine Arts student in France. She continuously enriches her thirst for culture through extensive international travel allowing her to connect with a wide range of artistic styles.

Carmen cites Washington D.C. as her anchor to perfect her craft in jewelry and the art of healing. All of her signature jewelry pieces are made from copper wire, a bio magnetic element with therapeutic benefits believed to heal body cells. Although she has tried working with other metals, her special connection and energy with copper wire is what allows her to craft these intricate pieces from the heart. Her designs are all custom- made and motivated by dreams. Each piece has a story and significant sentimental value. Carmen often wakes up inspired, spending days absorbed in her studio, creating and blending her unique ideas; putting her heart, energy and soul into each and every project until she obtains the perfect piece. Her distinctive inspiration of spiral and coil designs has quickly become her signature piece, representing the past and future, all interconnected with the present.

Carmen currently resides in the Washington D.C. area, working as a jewelry designer and art teacher.
